Canadians are known to be level headed and a bit docile at times, but with the recent chaos taking place in Ottawa the views have swayed a bit. The publics' reaction to the conservatives' undermindedness regarding the last federal election was less than docile. Politians are still stunned at the undemocratic tatics used by the consevatives to stay in power, Premier McGunity wants to end all the uncertainty and move on.
The October 14 election had a unfavorable turn out with less than 60% of eligible voters casting their ballots and this led to Stephen Harper being named prime minister for a second term. That would have been alright if he had not call the election so fast when no one was expecting it and one was not due to take place that year. The politians have lost all cofidence in Harpers' minority government and has ask the house to form a coalition government to rule until such time. Now the Canadian publics' roaring with dismay, what's going to happen with this sauga? will Harper be ousted and will the Canadians want justice. How will this amazing story from Canada unfold?

Barack Obama making history again
President elect Barack Obama made history when he won the election on November 4, 2008 now he is adding to that mile stone by selecting an african american for one of his top position. Eric Holder a well know federal prosecutor that have had lots of experience in the justice department was one of Obama's choice for a top postion in the white house.Holder has serve in the Clinton era and For Janet Reno as a deputy. It is a wise choice as Holder is very influential and knowa his ways around the justice arena.
My opinion
Obama seems to be choosing alot of people from the Clinton administration. Hilary Clinton may just become the secetary of state, but a $7.6 million post campaign debt that's following her it may not be such a good idea. There is no law against her raising funds to repay her debt while being secetary of state. Hilary is committed to repay her debt and should rightfully do so.

Where are we going with the oil situation?
People use to dream of coming to America to experience the great American dream. However, such dream has certainly changed due the fact that many are suffering from a nightmarish experience. If we don't fix our economy, soon we won't hold the honor of being the leading economy in the world.
Food prices have skyrocketed over the past years. If the shaky economy is not stablize soon, the entire world will crumble, because many countries depend heavily on the US economy. It's being suggested that corn ethonol will be used as fuel, but it's not a sustainable product. As a result of the pending food crisis throghout the world, the need for food is greater than the need for fuel. There would be people starving due to the lack of corn.It takes the same amount of corn to feed one person for a year and the same to fill a car's tank. People would be starvings in places like Africa. There need to be a better plan in place to deal with the fuel issue, maybe we nee to take a closer look into drilling our own oil.

Is it your fault you are in debt??
Being in debt is not your fault.
Do you know the interest rate on your credit card? The government has given the credit card company free reign over credit card interest and extract money at free will. They basically have a license to steal the money out of your pocket. These credit card companies don’t want you to pay off balance, if you pay the minimum payment on a 30% interest rate there is a chance you will never pay off that balance.
Consumers are being taken advantage of by the unscrupulous financial companies. The banks are quoted to say that the bread and butter of their business a re the low income, uneducated and the minorities. These are the people that are being ripped off and taken advantage of.
There are ways out of debt, for instance, calling your credit card company and asking for a lower interest and if they refuse let them know you will take your business else where or doubling your payment and not just paying the minimum and this will take years off . There are several ways of getting out of debt all it takes is a little research and a little patience.

Hard Work Ahead of Americans
When the American people created history on November 4, 2008 they changed how the world viewed us. America was always known as the land of opportunity, the land where the grass is greener on that side, well, now we have proven that truly you can accomplish anything here.
it's going to be a long hard road to recovery but with a leader that's determine to dig us out of the pit we have fallen into, there is definately hope. It's not to be expected that we are out of the woods of an impending depression, it's here upon us and it will be a long one , but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we will emerge victorious.

Stablizing the economy
With all the chaos going on at this time people are focus on leadership of this country and of the rebuilding plan in place. This mess will get worse before it gets an better, people are cautious about spending and are interested about the stabilization of the housing prices.
What we don't need to do is bail out the same banks that got us in this mess. They made the loans and they approve the reckless lending and borrowing. Until we get the housing crisis under control the economy will be broke and investors need confidence in the economy.
What should not be done : The bailout should not go to the banks
Taxes should not be raised
Do not raise capital gains
Health care availability for middle class
Housing prices stabilized
No one wants to admit that certain facts on a candidate plays a part in winning an election, example:race verses age or male verses female. These facts should not matters only the capabilities of the candidate.
We need to chose a president for the strategies and ideas he brings to the table and the integrity he possesses.

How to cope with Downsizing
Downsizing in the workplace is quite possible in our uncertain economy. If you are on the receiving end then, there are ways in which to cope in that straineous time
Don't take it personal
Sometimes in life things happen to us and we have no control over them. Despite who we are or what we have done things are bound to happen
Get angry.....later
Bad things happen to good people sometimes. It's ok to get angry but do it privately, you want your reputation to remain in good standing. Never burn the bridge yo cross because you never know when you have to cross it again.
Good grief
Grief is a healthy way of getting through the loss of something valuable. Spend time evaluating your feelings and know that it's ok to feel hurt. however if your grief seems to be heading in a destructive pattern go ahead and seek counselling...treat yourself to a little tenderness.
Accentuate the positive
Many successful people today give thanks to the day they were fired or laid off a job ie. Robert Redford, Muhammad Ali and Billie Jean King to name a few. Use this time to your advantage and find your calling and how you respond when the tough gets going.
Get a Recommendation
This is why it's necessary to remain respect and decent when leaving an employment, it's important to secure a recommendation from your boss. You can volunteer to write it yourself , if you must. Get permission for your boss to put his or hers direct phone number on your resume and give out at job interview.
Be a self promoter
If ever a time, it's now to shout it from the roof top how valuable you are. Believe in yourself and let others know about it.

Are we facing hard times
It is officially here, hard times have arrived. The stocks have plumetted to earth scattering depths, companies are running out of money and the bailout didn't work. Blames are being tossed about and no one is taking the responsbilities for the crisis we are in.
We have to play our part and not let panic paralyze us, we still live in the greatest country in the world, the American dream is still alive, all we have to do is put hands and heart together and start the rebuilding process. t is best to let negativity slide and ignore the toxic languages because it will lead distructive and embarrassing behaviours. The world is looking in on us and how we handle crisis we are in, many countries out in the world would love to see us fail, but why give them that satisfaction?

Lenders Tightening On Credit
with the latest fiasco on Wall Street and the crisis in the housing market, have flipped lenders into tightening up their belts when it comes to granting loans and credit cards. Only borrowers with the highest credit score or those with good col laterals will be granted permission to join the soon to be prestige club of qualified creditors. Basically, the banks have become tight wads, not willing to part with much sort after money.
The economy have been piloted by banks willing to give away loans to even those that didn't meet all their criteria of a borrower. This new change in banking has put a damper on consumer spending. The eminent recession has put consumer in a spending freeze, they account for 2/3 of the spending in the economy.
The banks are becoming much pickier to whom they lend or how much they lend, these decisions are leaving marginal lenders in a pickle.
Consumers are going to have to have a job job before qualifying for a loan and they are going to have to make installment payments that will be higher per dollar that they borrow.
So, the bubble years are over and consumers have gotten a wake up jolt.

BRAND LOYALTY Yes, we all have a favorite brang but paying double for things that don't reaqlly matter is a waste of cash. Buy genjeric brand and save.
DON'T JUMP IN before you pay for a membership or pick up a hobby, sign up for a class or two to see whether you are cdommitted or not. If you decide to go ahead then, check out ebay amazon.com/auctions and overstock.com/auctions. You'l l be amazed at what you can find from overs that were overzealous and bought the whole caboodel.
BUYING FROM AN AD TV Informercials are produced to attract you and force you to purchase, the products are usually overpriced and hardly ever turns out to be as wonderful as you imagined. When tempted lookup the items on ebay and usually you will be able to find the same item at a fracdtion of the cost then, ask yourself why so many returns, that'll shake the need for compulsive buying.
FAILURE TO RETURN If you purchase something and it doesn't fit or the colour is wrong you should return it or it may end up costing you 100's with all the returns you don't return. If you have the reciept then take it back for a full refund and if you don't have the receipt atleast try for a for a store credit.

Keep Saving On Gas
With the cost of gas rising to new levels, saving money is on everyones mind, it's all about coping in hard times. The gas prices went up by $4.00 and barely trickled down by a mere $.50, nothing to get excited about. This is surviving the gas price war and finding ways to cope with the cost. While you cannot change the price of gas, there are things you can do to cut down on the amount we are consuming and that will end up saving you at the pumps.
Carpooling This is a great way to save on gas, joining in on carpooling with people heading in the same direction that you are. This way you can split the cost between two or three people instead of paying for the whole thing. You will get a chance to meet people that works in the same vicinity you work and the drive will be much more lively.
Combine your trips Plan your trips to accomplish all the errands you need to do. Try to do as many bthings in one trip which will end up saving you at the gas pump and avoid as much backtracking as possible.
Avoid rush hour traffic
All that stopping and starting in the rush hour traffic is not only annoying, but a waste of gas! Try to leave a little earlier or a bit later, you can avoid that rush and be able to drive at a more steady pace and save your nerves.
Consider buying a more environmental friendly car
If you are in the market for a new car especially if you do alot of travelling then, your best bet is to purchase an evironmentally friendly car. Consider buying a hybrid car or one that's more efficent on fuel, this may cost you more upfront but will save you big time on gas for many years to come.
Keep vehicle including tires maintained
Vehicles should be tuned up on a regular bases, having spark plugs changed and oils topped up. Tires that do not contain enough air will cause your vehicle to use more gas. check the air pressure on the tires monthly. Tires are an expensive investment and should be care for to get the best performance.

Saving on Gas Prices
Gas prices are breaking the pocket of consumers today. With summer here the temperture is not the only thing rising , we need some kind of a solution on how to survie this dismal situation....there has to be a place in plan.
The plan
*Skip going to the national chain in the middle of town and find locally operated ones where the prices will be as much as 10 cent per gallon cheaper. The wuality will be the same as there are regulations to ensure quality gases are being sold to consumers.
*Do not wait until your gas gauge needkle is on empty, try and fill up at about 1/4 tank. To prevent air from getting into your gas tank and you wont seem to be using as much petrol as when the needle hits empty.
*Fill up midweek and avoid the gas pump race, prices usually goes down at that time and have not risen for the anticipation of the next week.
*Or, we could all get a bike , start biking to most places and save a ton on gym membership and fuel cost. We would be in excellent shape and have a few extra dollars in our pockets.
Here's to happy savings.

Cornered by High Prices

Fruits and vegetables play an important role in our diets and should not be restricted because rising food prices. Health and well being should be considered when purchasing these produce.
Fruits and vegetables are at their best when bought in season; learn which ones are in and at what time of the year. With the importation of certain fruits and vegetables from other countries it's possible to purchase them all year round, but the prices will not be as good as when you buy locally produced items. When fruits are at their peak, purchase large amounts so you are able to freeze and can for the upcoming off season. Vegetables can also be done in the fore mentioned manner.ile
Visiting the local farmer’s market will allow you get local organic produce all the while allowing a substantial saving. Find farms that allow you to pick your own produce, this is good to get the entire family out and involve in harvesting their own food.
Seasonal harvest is as follows:
Summer: melons, plums, peaches and nectarines
Spring: blueberries, strawberries, asparagus
Fall: apples, pumpkins
Winter: Citrus

To to the sky For Food Prices
It’s just unbelievable where gas prices and food prices have gone, not only have they
risen but in some countries things are becoming harder and harder to get. Now that’s a scary thought ….food shortage, makes you think of the 30’s, but we won’t go there today.
I am going to talk a little about food price situation and how tocan alleviate some of the pressure off our pockets.
You want to spend the same amount you normally spend, getting the same quality and quatity you are use to getting.
Create a budget. Man cannot live without a budget.
First and foremost never shop without a list, no matter how tempting it seem. This will keep you from over spending.
Impulse shopping can drive up your food budget by nearly 40%.`Do not be tempted by displays placed strategically to entice you. Stay away from end of isle and checkout counter displays.
Fore go the quick stops to the stores, your list should be thorough enough when you are making it and whatever you need can wait until the next shedule shopping time. Unless it’s necessity, go in and out real fast, dont linger and eye shop.
Coupons are great, they have saved me hundreds of dollars. This however is not for everyone, if you are on a tight budget then this is the route you want to take. Your sunday papers are the way to get started then, you can join coupon clubs online and request the coupons you want. Keep your coupons in a separate container and organized.
Base your meals off what’s on sale, this wii save you quite a bit. It doesn’t take long to plan your weeks menu, actually your family will appreciate it.
Start brown bagging it to work and school. Prices for convienece food have risen so high it’s unbelievable, trust me that extra cash can go to putting gas in your car. Now that’s something we can’t do much about. My thought, get a bike or let us all start walking more.
Cheers to saving and to maintaining a food budget.
